The bottom has a milled surface to ensure 7/8" thickness. More commonly known as 1" thick bluestone, although actual measurements of 1" thick bluestone are gauged to 7/8" thick to ensure it is no more than 1" thick at any point. Stone is recommended to be laid with a 1/2" joint.
