Multicolor slate landscaping stone adds a rich dimension to any landscaping. The harmonious balance of grays, browns and reds work well as stepping stones in a garden or mortar set in a hardscape setting.
Quartzite highly reflective nature and light color patterns make it an ideal choice for pool surrounds, outdoor terraces, or wall cladding. The tones of yellow, white, greens, and browns work well with any surrounding, and the slip resistant texture adds to the safety of the area.

The color contrast of the multicolor slate vary dramatically, from the gray dominated background to the unique mustards, oranges, and browns of the highlights; this product will add the perfect touch to any application.

Multicolor structural slab slate is only available in natural cleft due to the variations in stone mineral deposits.

Historic Green structural slate is vibrant green in color with very little variation. To prevent weathering seal the slate after installation.

Available in Honed, Brushed, and Natural cleft.

Virginia Slate's Historic Gray structural slate slabs are medium gray in color with darker accents. Suitable for wall cladding, fireplace surrounds, or counterops slate is a unique material with an ageless quality.

Available in Natural Cleft, Brushed, and Honed finish.

 

 

River Stone Gray

River Stone Gray roofing slate is an excellent hard-vein with an even gray tone that has a distinctive course texture. Up close one can see slight lines in these slate roof tiles that add a nice texture once it has been installed on the roof. River Stone Gray is a warm battleship gray that darkens slightly over time. This slate has a  textured appearance with varying color from piece to piece. This slate is often sold as an “Unfading Gray” or a “Strata Gray/Black” slate match.

Historic Black structural slate has been used for counter tops, wall cladding, stair treads, window sills, fireplace surrounds and many more functions.

The rich color of the slate with natural variations provides an interesting touch for any application.

Classic Blue/ Black Slate

Our Classic Blue/ Black roofing slate is rich in color with a smooth uniform texture that makes it suitable for both formal and traditional architectures. It’s one of the hardest slates available, and provides the highest resistance to acids on the market. Our roofing slate will provide a lasting beauty, protection and attractive investments that will add value to any property. All roofing slates are standard ¼ - 3/8 inch thick. Classic Blue/Black slate roof tiles provide an excellent match for restorations or additions to older homes and a classic timeless look for new construction. This slate is commonly used as a substitution for “Buckingham Slate”, “Monson Black,” “PA Black Slate”, or “Banger Slate.”

Granite pavers are the perfect alternative to full thickness cobblestone pavers, and the rough texture of the pavers provides excellent traction. Each paver is approximately 1" thick and available in a variety of sizes.
Historic Green Slate is a uniform fern green in color. These slate pavers makes an excellent addition to any exterior area with their subtle tone and texture.

Historic Gray Landscaping Slate is a natural cleft material in a medium gray color. The stone works well for easy transitions from our interior product directly to this exterior stone. The slate is easily mud set to avoid a freeze thaw break-up.

Our Historic Black Landscaping slate is the same slate stone as the floor tiles yet in a thicker profile able to withstand not only freeze thaw but also a direct set application. The slate paving stones come 3/4" thick with a natural cleft surface.

 

Historic Black Natural Cleft slate is a classic stone with a charcoal gray color. The surface of these slate floor tiles are uniform with only slight natural clefting in the rock.


Slate Floor Maintanence

Each piece of Historic Black Brushed Slate is brushed with fast spinning wire brushes; the result is slate tile flooring with a worn texture. The natural clefting is rubbed down as well as each side.  The stone then takes on a warmer feel, ideal for historic renovations or even new construction.
Historic Black honed slate is a charcoal gray slate that is suitable for slate tile flooring as well as a slate tile countertop applications. The surface is perfectly smooth with the natual markings and gradations of the slate.
Historic Gray slate is a battleship gray colored slate flooring. There is little variation from tile to tile in the color of these slate floor tiles, thus creating a beautiful and natural feel to any room. This stone also comes in a thicker landscaping slate allowing for seemless tranistions from a interior surface to an exterior area.
Historic Gray brushed slate floor tiles are the same Battleship gray color as the natural cleft slate but with the unique texture of the brushes. This flooring slate gives a feeling of age, warmth, and life. Special orders may also be placed requesting patterns.
Historic Gray honed slate is lighter in color than the Natural cleft and with much more natural variations in the slate that are visible. The slate flooring tiles are perfectly smooth with almost a "watermark" characteristic from the visible elements in the slate. This stone is available in slate flooring as well as slate countertop applications. (Thickness varies based on application.)

Historic green brushed slate flooring tile has a unique texture with a worn feel. The slate flooring is dressed with metal brushes that soften the natural clefting of the slate. This slate flooring tile does need to be sealed after installation to prevent natural yellowing.

 

Historic Green flooring slate tile is a beautiful fern green slate. The flooring slate is consistant in color and may be combined with our other Historic slates to form a pattern. This stone weathers with time but may be sealed to retain its original color.

If you are looking for a unique textured flooring choice, Oyster Flooring will be perfect. This natural stone comes out of the ground in a fluctuation of light earth tones, from whites and creams to buffs and pink. Each flooring tile piece is different with a natural cleft surface texture.

Dominated with dark tones of gray, this flooring slate tile is mingled with variations of copper, golds and tawny earth tones.  Each slate tile piece is gauged to 3/8" thick with a natual cleft surface.

This slate is only available in natural cleft.

Vermont Unfading Red

Unfading Red is a brilliant red slate with a truly unique appearance.  This slate is often used as an accent with other colors due to its small production quantities and price.

Variegated Purple

Variegated Purple is a semi-weathering slate product that is predominately purple with splashes of green throughout the slate.  Depending on where this slate is quarried, will determine the percentage that will weather to buffs and browns.

Vermont Royal Purple

Royal Purple is a semi-weathering slate product where a bout 50% of these slates weather to light tans or khaki colors. These changes in color only occur after the slate has been exposed to the elements.

Mottled Purple/ Green

Mottled Purple/ Green is predominately purple with daubs of green.  This unfading slate will normally only contain ten percent green coloring on the entire roof.

Mottled Green / Purple

Mottled Green / Purple is a slate uniformly blended with green and purple; each piece contains almost equal parts of both green and purple. The slate is often used in blends with other slate colors.

Vermont Unfading Purple

Unfading Purple is a beautiful purple slate with dotting of green. This slate is produced in small quantities, so lead time and availability can sometimes be a problem.  The size of the job will determine the delivery of this slate.

Vermont Semi-Weathering Gray / Green

Semi-Weathering Gray / Green will weather 10% to 20% to buff and tans.  This should be expected if purchasing this slate color.  This product is often referred to as “Semi-Weathering Gray” or “Semi-Weathering Green.”

Vermont Strata Gray or Mottled Gray/ Black

This Semi-Weathering Gray roofing slate is predominately gray with darker markings or streaks in each piece. Some weathering will occur with this product bringing forth only slight variations in tone.

Vermont Sea Green

Sea Green is a semi-weathering green roofing slate that is green when it is first extracted from the ground, but with the unique blend of minerals present in the slate it weathers into rich tones of buff and tans yet still retaining the green overtones.

Vermont Semi-Weathering Gray

Semi-Weathering Gray is a clear gray when extracted from the quarry, but a high percentage of this slate will weather to tones of buff and brown. Weathering slate work well in a neighborhood that is already established, because they quickly provide a "lived with" look to a house.

Vermont Gray/ Black

This semi-weathering Gray/ Black roofing slate will weather in parts to tones of buff or brown when exposed to the elements.  This slate weathers some but less then “Vermont Black” or other Vermont Semi-Weathering products.

Vermont Unfading Green

Unfading Green roofing slate is gray/ green in tone with very little variation in the tiles across the entire roof.  This slate is often used to blend with other purples and grays.

Vermont Unfading Gray

Unfading Gray roofing slate is a medium gray or battleship gray that can have some darker gray markings or striations occasionally.  The grainy texture of this slate adds character to any roof.

Colonial Blue / Gray Roofing Slate

This beautiful slate roofing is an Unfading Blue / Gray or Blue / Black colored slate.  The color and texture of this roofing slate is clearly one of the nicest quality roof slates available in today’s market.  This slate is the perfect match for “Buckingham Slate” and or “Monson Black Slate”.  The cost of this slate roofing is a little bit higher than most, but the quality of it will save you money in the long run with less needed to finish the job.

Unfading Blue / Black

Unfading Blue/ Black is produced from Buckingham County, Virginia.  This slate is without question one of the best slate veins here in the United States.  It is frequently specified for high end residential jobs, commercial and government projects across the United States.  Due to today’s small productions of the slate, most of these specs are changed to our “Classic Blue/ Black” or our “Colonial Blue/ Gray”.

Historic Green

Historic Green slate commonly referred to as a “Semi-Weathering Gray/Green” is very consistent in color across the entire roof.  Over time this slate may weather with tones of yellows. This slate is quarried thick to produce a bold perception of depth.

Historic Gray

This slate is a combination in color of both the Historic black and Historic green slates. Historic Gray roofing slate is a lighter medium gray slate with a consistent over all color.  These gray slate tiles have slight under tone of green. It is quarried thicker to produce a bold perception of depth across the entire slate roof.  This slate is commonly referred to as an “Unfading Gray.”

Historic Black

This charcoal gray slate is a warm color with slight variations in surface qualities. Historic Black roofing slate is produced as a thicker slate to help provide the roof with a more substantial presence.  These slate tiles add an extra dimension of depth to the entire roof.  The gray/ black varies some from piece to piece which contributes to the unique look of the entire roof.

Olive Green

Olive green slate is a unique product with a uniform unfading color and texture. These slate roofing tiles would be considered similar to Unfading Green.

 

 

East Moorland Green Roof Slate

Unfading East Moorland Green has become one of our most popular roofing slate tiles due to its forest green tones. The variations from piece to piece and blend of light and dark shades clearly make this one of the most popular “Unfading Green Slate” on the market today. These slate shingles are often sold as an “Unfading Green Slate” or a “Mottled Green Slate”.

Vermont Semi-Weathering Black or Clear Black

When intially installed Clear Black roofing slate is charcoal black and consistent in color, yet over time the Semi-Weathering Black slate weathers to tones of and brown when exposed to the elements.  This slate is commonly referred to in the industry as a “Vermont Black” or a “Clear Black.”

Colonial Black

Colonial Black is quarried with a uniform black tone with little variation from piece to piece. Yet due to its higher percentage of Calcium, about 10% to 20% percent of these slate shingles will weather to lighter shades of grays and buffs.  The weathering slate roofing is commonly used as a substitute for “Vermont Black” or Vermont Clear Black”. This weathering slate is commonly used in Historic districts allowing the new roof to have an aged appearance.
