Historic Black
This charcoal gray slate is a warm color with slight variations in surface qualities. Historic Black roofing slate is produced as a thicker slate to help provide the roof with a more substantial presence. These slate tiles add an extra dimension of depth to the entire roof. The gray/ black varies some from piece to piece which contributes to the unique look of the entire roof.
Historic Gray
This slate is a combination in color of both the Historic black and Historic green slates. Historic Gray roofing slate is a lighter medium gray slate with a consistent over all color. These gray slate tiles have slight under tone of green. It is quarried thicker to produce a bold perception of depth across the entire slate roof. This slate is commonly referred to as an “Unfading Gray.”
Historic Green
Historic Green slate commonly referred to as a “Semi-Weathering Gray/Green” is very consistent in color across the entire roof. Over time this slate may weather with tones of yellows. This slate is quarried thick to produce a bold perception of depth. This slate is commonly tested by ASTM as on S-2 grade of slate.
Unfading Blue / Black
Unfading Blue/ Black is produced from
Semi-Weathering Black or Clear Black
When intially installed Clear Black roofing slate is charcoal black and consistent in color, yet over time the Semi-Weathering Black slate weathers to tones of and brown when exposed to the elements. This slate is commonly referred to in the industry as a “Vermont Black” or a “Clear Black.”
Unfading Green
Unfading Green roofing slate is gray/ green in tone with very little variation in the tiles across the entire roof. This slate is often used to blend with other purples and grays.
